Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily routines, including meal times, activities, and rest periods, ensuring a structured and caring environment
  • Support individuals with disabilities or special needs through personalized caregiving, behavior management, and developmental activities
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
  • Collaborate with case managers, therapists, and other support staff to implement individualized plans that promote childhood development and early education goals
  • Engage individuals in age-appropriate activities that foster social skills, emotional regulation, and cognitive growth
  • Provide companionship and transportation to scheduled activities and appointments.
  • Document observations and progress to support ongoing development plans and communicate effectively with families or guardians
Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in settings such as school, adult day programs, or caregiving roles
  • Certification or training in first aid and CPR is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of special education strategies and behavior management techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team of service coordinators, therapists, and families.
  • Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to connect effectively with roommate, families, and colleagues
  • Prior experience working/volunteering with adults with intellectual disabilities is beneficial but not required.

volunteer positions:

Volunteer Coordinator 2 – Manages all volunteers for all Let The Kids Explore events and activities to assist with staffing special events, and volunteers.

VP of Fundraising – Assists with booking campaigns and tracking funds goals, Facebook and in person booth promotion at Let The Kids Explore special events, and collaboration of fun family friendly events. We are looking to have big quarterly fundraising events in 2026 such as gala, silent auction, raffles, farm to table dinners and more and need a VP to help plan and track and assist with our existing veggie monthly campaign and big plans for 2026. No experience necessary all training and supplies provided. Just need a bubbly people person who enjoys fun in person family friendly events! This VP role would work closely with our President and Founder at networking events to promote our nonprofit as well.

Treasurer – Handles organization budget and expenses to track group payments on classes and field trips set up by Let The Kids Explore. Works closely with the President to ensure we are within budget and paying invoices in a timely manner. Prepares monthly treasurer report, actuals, and assist with grants submissions and donations tracking. Submitted annual 990 tax filing with our local accounting firm.   Training and supplies provided no experience necessary. We have very light bookkeeping and expenses.
