Educational Program Grants

Grant applications must be submitted by a faculty member no later than the third week in September of the school year to be considered for funding in that year.  Grant application materials should be submitted to the: Ramona Chamber of Commerce, 1306 Main St., Suite. 103, Ramona, CA 92065 by mail or via email to: rccstaff@ramonachamber.com.

Purpose

The Purpose of the Ramona Chamber of Commerce’s Educational Program Grant (EPG) is to support Ramona Unified School District (RUSD) programs that enhance the education, talents, skills, character, and community involvement of its students. Amount of grant award (minimum $500) and number of grants will be at the sole discretion of the Ramona Chamber of Commerce.

Eligibility

Programs and projects conducted by faculty within the RUSD are eligible. Programs and projects may take place before, during or after classroom hours and must have purposeful impact on at least a classroom of students and/or significant portion of the student body. Programs and projects may be wholly educational, or have a focus on artistic, athletic, or special skills development.

Scholarship Programs

Ramona Chamber of Commerce Scholarships are available to high school seniors who are graduating from a Ramona public school, private school or home school. Applicants must also express or exhibit a future bound goal of some business endeavor. Scholarships are primarily “merit” based. All qualification data submitted to the Scholarship Committee by any applicant must be accompanied by written confirmation from the applicant’s high school counselor. Completed applications must be forwarded through the high school career counselors at the schools by April 30.

Submission Requirements

Applicants must submit an application that includes a one-page essay stating their college and career plans to the Scholarship Committee. Any applications that are incomplete or submitted after April 30 will become ineligible and will not be considered.

Additional Qualifications

  • Involvement in extracurricular school activities and/or community activities while in school
  • A need for outside financial support in order to attend school
  • Work experience, both paid and unpaid

Finalist Approval

The Board of Directors of the Ramona Chamber of Commerce must approve any applicant finalist who is a relative of a current Ramona Chamber of Commerce board member.

Letter of Recommendations

The applicants should submit a written recommendation by two (2) or more of their high school teachers or counselors and one (1) from a non-relative outside of their school who knows the applicant well.
